Narrative:
On climb out; got smoke and fumes in the cockpit followed shortly by complaints from flight attendants and passenger of acrid smells in the cabin. We performed QRH procedures for smoke and fumes with no change in conditions. Declared an emergency with ATC. Initiated an emergency descent. Landed uneventfully. Had crash fire rescue equipment personnel perform a thermal scan of the aircraft. We were released to taxi to the ramp.

Title: B757 FLT CREW HAD SMOKE FUMES IN CABIN; DECLARES EMER; DIVERTS FOR LNDG.
Narrative: ON CLBOUT; GOT SMOKE AND FUMES IN THE COCKPIT FOLLOWED SHORTLY BY COMPLAINTS FROM FLT ATTENDANTS AND PAX OF ACRID SMELLS IN THE CABIN. WE PERFORMED QRH PROCS FOR SMOKE AND FUMES WITH NO CHANGE IN CONDITIONS. DECLARED AN EMER WITH ATC. INITIATED AN EMER DSCNT. LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. HAD CFR PERSONNEL PERFORM A THERMAL SCAN OF THE ACFT. WE WERE RELEASED TO TAXI TO THE RAMP.
