Narrative:

Operations normal flight with the exception of 'autospoiler do not arm' light illuminated. Reviewed/followed procedure; completed checklists. Normal touchdown/landing. Between touchdown and full stop; right gear door unlatched causing gear door to drag resulting in damage to the door. Turning off runway; tower notified us that sparks were noticed on right side of aircraft. Stopped aircraft. Maintenance assessed the situation and towed us in to the gate. Mechanic informed us that there was an obvious door malfunction in that the door was working opposite to normal. Mechanic had to use alternate method (spoiler bypass handle) to get the door up so he could tow aircraft in.
