Narrative:
We were doing the CLARE2 departure out of dfw departing on runway 35L. After takeoff in navigation trk and with the autplt on; 230 KTS; 500 ft at mechl; the autoplt went to 'heading hold.' we noticed it right away and corrected manually to get back on track. The GPS showed us 1 mile off course and ATC asked us about the turn. Within one minute we were back on track. After talking to ATC they told us that a B757 had the same thing happen to them just a few minutes earlier. No conflict was noticed.
