Narrative:

The controller was relieved by a supervisor for normal relief. Later a handoff was taken by the supervisor (MD80) and vectored behind other aircraft to follow (T34). Both aircraft were established on final to NAS corpus with adequate separation. However; the closure rate was compressing to less than standard separation. The supervisor attempted to slow the MD80 but O no avail; less than standard separation occurred without visual separation. Finally; NAS corpus tower requested an emergency climb out for the MD80. The MD80 upon frequency change to the supervisor questioned the go around and re-sequence.
