Narrative:

On jul/xa/06; I accomplished a lightning strike inspection on ship X. I found damage on the rudder on 2 spots. The tip was melted about 1/4 inch in area. Also found fiber damage below second static discharger. The answer on the repair performed by other mechanics does not match what I observed on my inspection. The flight maintenance release did not transcribe my logbook entry correctly. Mechanics may have been confused. They idented lightning damage as melted paint.

Title: A B767 LIGHTNING STRIKE INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED AND DAMAGE RPTED ON A NON ROUTINE JOB CARD. TECHNICIAN'S DAMAGE NOT ENTERED CORRECTLY ON THE MAINT RELEASE.
