Narrative:
While performing 'a' check routine maintenance; I discovered fasteners missing in the left air conditioning bay. Hydraulic lines to the #1 engine reverser isolation valve were tagged with masking tape inscribed with the text 'missing screws.' I found 3 clamps; sandwich type rubber blocks securing 2 each hydraulic lines; missing fasteners. The clamps and hydraulic lines were not secure. I removed the tape and installed fasteners to secure the lines. I also found the 'a' hydraulic system return line leaking from a 'T' fitting 'B' nut in the aft outboard air conditioning bay. Secured the 'B' nut and accomplished an inspection of the air conditioning bay and no further discrepancies were noted. I also accomplished a hydraulic leak check precautionary; no further leakage noted. I believe these lines had not been secured at the aircraft heavy maintenance visit in may 06. Clearance to close inspection was apparently lacking in that the lines were actually flagged with masking tape...fairly visible.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737-300 WAS FOUND TO HAVE MISSING FASTENERS TO HYD LINE CLAMPS AND A LEAKING 'B' NUT IN THE L AIR CONDITIONING BAY. LINES WERE TAGGED AND RPTR BELIEVES WORK WAS INCOMPLETE AT LAST HVY MAINT VISIT.
Narrative: WHILE PERFORMING 'A' CHK ROUTINE MAINT; I DISCOVERED FASTENERS MISSING IN THE L AIR CONDITIONING BAY. HYD LINES TO THE #1 ENG REVERSER ISOLATION VALVE WERE TAGGED WITH MASKING TAPE INSCRIBED WITH THE TEXT 'MISSING SCREWS.' I FOUND 3 CLAMPS; SANDWICH TYPE RUBBER BLOCKS SECURING 2 EACH HYD LINES; MISSING FASTENERS. THE CLAMPS AND HYD LINES WERE NOT SECURE. I REMOVED THE TAPE AND INSTALLED FASTENERS TO SECURE THE LINES. I ALSO FOUND THE 'A' HYD SYS RETURN LINE LEAKING FROM A 'T' FITTING 'B' NUT IN THE AFT OUTBOARD AIR CONDITIONING BAY. SECURED THE 'B' NUT AND ACCOMPLISHED AN INSPECTION OF THE AIR CONDITIONING BAY AND NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED. I ALSO ACCOMPLISHED A HYD LEAK CHK PRECAUTIONARY; NO FURTHER LEAKAGE NOTED. I BELIEVE THESE LINES HAD NOT BEEN SECURED AT THE ACFT HVY MAINT VISIT IN MAY 06. CLRNC TO CLOSE INSPECTION WAS APPARENTLY LACKING IN THAT THE LINES WERE ACTUALLY FLAGGED WITH MASKING TAPE...FAIRLY VISIBLE.
