Narrative:
Safety briefing video that was shown on flight was incorrect. The flight was a B757-001 aircraft (original air carrier confign with 2 overwing exits and doors position 1L/right; 2L/right and 3L/right). The video showed the detailed emergency procedures (evacuate/evacuation rtes and exit locations) for a B757-001 aircraft. The B757-003 aircraft is a former air carrier aircraft with different cabin confign. It has no overwing exits and has door position 1L/right; 2L/right; 3L/right and 4L/right. Since this experience is the second one I personally have had within a 2 week period (2 of 10 flts; though 3 of the 10 flts were non-video -- so 2 of 7 more accurate); I have been paying particular attention to the videos that are presented. The video showed: 1) the exit locations for a B757-002. 2) the escape paths for a B757-002. Since the aircraft was a B757-001 with overwing exits (and no second aft cabin exits) it could easily confuse a passenger based on their seating location. Air carrier does have unique videos for each aircraft type. For some reason; the incorrect one was shown on this flight.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A PAX NOTES THAT THE PRE TKOF SAFETY VIDEO SHOWN ON THAT FLT'S B757-200 WAS FOR A DIFFERENT MODEL B757-200.
Narrative: SAFETY BRIEFING VIDEO THAT WAS SHOWN ON FLT WAS INCORRECT. THE FLT WAS A B757-001 ACFT (ORIGINAL ACR CONFIGN WITH 2 OVERWING EXITS AND DOORS POS 1L/R; 2L/R AND 3L/R). THE VIDEO SHOWED THE DETAILED EMER PROCS (EVAC RTES AND EXIT LOCATIONS) FOR A B757-001 ACFT. THE B757-003 ACFT IS A FORMER ACR ACFT WITH DIFFERENT CABIN CONFIGN. IT HAS NO OVERWING EXITS AND HAS DOOR POS 1L/R; 2L/R; 3L/R AND 4L/R. SINCE THIS EXPERIENCE IS THE SECOND ONE I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD WITHIN A 2 WK PERIOD (2 OF 10 FLTS; THOUGH 3 OF THE 10 FLTS WERE NON-VIDEO -- SO 2 OF 7 MORE ACCURATE); I HAVE BEEN PAYING PARTICULAR ATTN TO THE VIDEOS THAT ARE PRESENTED. THE VIDEO SHOWED: 1) THE EXIT LOCATIONS FOR A B757-002. 2) THE ESCAPE PATHS FOR A B757-002. SINCE THE ACFT WAS A B757-001 WITH OVERWING EXITS (AND NO SECOND AFT CABIN EXITS) IT COULD EASILY CONFUSE A PAX BASED ON THEIR SEATING LOCATION. ACR DOES HAVE UNIQUE VIDEOS FOR EACH ACFT TYPE. FOR SOME REASON; THE INCORRECT ONE WAS SHOWN ON THIS FLT.
