Narrative:
Made a normal visual landing. Touchdown was soft and smooth. Immediately I heard and felt both left main tires blow and the aircraft started vibrating. Tower advised us almost immediately that they saw sparks and smoke on touchdown. Stopped the aircraft on the runway and the tower reported we still had smoke and appeared a fire in the left wheel area. I commanded the evacuate/evacuation. All 113 passenger and 5 crew members used the escape slides with no injuries. My crew members did an excellent job. They performed their duties with the greatest of skill and speed. Flight attendants kept the cabin calm and orderly. The passenger showed no sign of panic.
