Narrative:
I was originally given sbz alb V123 haarp direct hpn. When I programmed my GPS I inadvertently put in V157 after trgsa intersection which took me towards ign instead of on V123 which turns at trgsa towards cmk. About 10 mi past trgsa; ZBW inquired if I was still on V123. It was at that point that I realized I was on the wrong airway and apologized. Center cleared me direct to cmk VOR and that was it. In the future; I will exercise more caution and care in programming the GPS and reading the assigned route off of the en route chart.

Narrative: I WAS ORIGINALLY GIVEN SBZ ALB V123 HAARP DIRECT HPN. WHEN I PROGRAMMED MY GPS I INADVERTENTLY PUT IN V157 AFTER TRGSA INTXN WHICH TOOK ME TOWARDS IGN INSTEAD OF ON V123 WHICH TURNS AT TRGSA TOWARDS CMK. ABOUT 10 MI PAST TRGSA; ZBW INQUIRED IF I WAS STILL ON V123. IT WAS AT THAT POINT THAT I REALIZED I WAS ON THE WRONG AIRWAY AND APOLOGIZED. CTR CLRED ME DIRECT TO CMK VOR AND THAT WAS IT. IN THE FUTURE; I WILL EXERCISE MORE CAUTION AND CARE IN PROGRAMMING THE GPS AND READING THE ASSIGNED RTE OFF OF THE ENRTE CHART.
