Narrative:
The aircraft involved is an amphibious super cub. While landing on white lake; during a training flight; the landing gear remained in the 'down' position. Upon contacting the water; the aircraft flipped over its nose and sank. After removing the aircraft from the water; it was determined that the aircraft was not substantially damaged during the landing incident.

Title: PA18 FLOAT PLANE LANDED ON LAKE WITH GEAR EXTENDED; FLIPPED OVER AND SANK WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE.
Narrative: THE ACFT INVOLVED IS AN AMPHIBIOUS SUPER CUB. WHILE LNDG ON WHITE LAKE; DURING A TRAINING FLT; THE LNDG GEAR REMAINED IN THE 'DOWN' POS. UPON CONTACTING THE WATER; THE ACFT FLIPPED OVER ITS NOSE AND SANK. AFTER REMOVING THE ACFT FROM THE WATER; IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ACFT WAS NOT SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED DURING THE LNDG INCIDENT.
