Narrative:
A repair order was issued for aircraft X for its radar dome due to a lightning strike. The repair order was to be completed within 50 flight cycles. Unfortunately; it was not properly written up in the aircraft's flight maintenance log. During routine maintenance in ZZZ; the mechanics made a mistake and cleared the item from our maintenance computers. There were 3 other repair orders on the aircraft maintenance flight logbook dealing with the lightning strike. I checked the aircraft maintenance flight logbook to make sure those items were not overdue. The paperwork for the repair order was in the aircraft's flight can; but when I went through the can to check the other repair orders; I thought that paperwork was part of another repair order that was not overdue. I made a mistake and misread the paperwork that would have alerted me of the need for the radar dome to be fixed. We then flew the 52 flight cycle on the aircraft that needed to be repaired by 50 cycles. There was a breakdown in our maintenance system from the repair order not being properly documented in the aircraft maintenance flight logbook. The item being cleared from the computer; and me mistaking the paperwork for another repair order. We all must be more vigilant to keep this from happening again.

Title: AN EMB145 HAD A TIME LIMITED DEFERRED ITEM ON THE RADOME FOR LIGHTNING STRIKE REPAIR OF 50 CYCLES. ACFT FLOWN 2 CYCLES OVER LIMIT.
Narrative: A REPAIR ORDER WAS ISSUED FOR ACFT X FOR ITS RADAR DOME DUE TO A LIGHTNING STRIKE. THE REPAIR ORDER WAS TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 50 FLT CYCLES. UNFORTUNATELY; IT WAS NOT PROPERLY WRITTEN UP IN THE ACFT'S FLT MAINT LOG. DURING ROUTINE MAINT IN ZZZ; THE MECHS MADE A MISTAKE AND CLRED THE ITEM FROM OUR MAINT COMPUTERS. THERE WERE 3 OTHER REPAIR ORDERS ON THE ACFT MAINT FLT LOGBOOK DEALING WITH THE LIGHTNING STRIKE. I CHKED THE ACFT MAINT FLT LOGBOOK TO MAKE SURE THOSE ITEMS WERE NOT OVERDUE. THE PAPERWORK FOR THE REPAIR ORDER WAS IN THE ACFT'S FLT CAN; BUT WHEN I WENT THROUGH THE CAN TO CHK THE OTHER REPAIR ORDERS; I THOUGHT THAT PAPERWORK WAS PART OF ANOTHER REPAIR ORDER THAT WAS NOT OVERDUE. I MADE A MISTAKE AND MISREAD THE PAPERWORK THAT WOULD HAVE ALERTED ME OF THE NEED FOR THE RADAR DOME TO BE FIXED. WE THEN FLEW THE 52 FLT CYCLE ON THE ACFT THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BY 50 CYCLES. THERE WAS A BREAKDOWN IN OUR MAINT SYS FROM THE REPAIR ORDER NOT BEING PROPERLY DOCUMENTED IN THE ACFT MAINT FLT LOGBOOK. THE ITEM BEING CLRED FROM THE COMPUTER; AND ME MISTAKING THE PAPERWORK FOR ANOTHER REPAIR ORDER. WE ALL MUST BE MORE VIGILANT TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.
