Narrative:
Long story short; we accepted the wrong pre departure clearance and didn't catch it until airborne when tower asked what our transponder code was. We sent for a new pre departure clearance and entered the new code without any deviations. Lesson learned. Don't rush.

Title: MD80 FLT CREW ACCEPTS WRONG PDC AND TAKES OFF SQUAWKING WRONG CODE.
Narrative: LONG STORY SHORT; WE ACCEPTED THE WRONG PDC AND DIDN'T CATCH IT UNTIL AIRBORNE WHEN TWR ASKED WHAT OUR XPONDER CODE WAS. WE SENT FOR A NEW PDC AND ENTERED THE NEW CODE WITHOUT ANY DEVS. LESSON LEARNED. DON'T RUSH.
