Narrative:
While with ZME on 124.35 we were cleared to 13000 ft; center alerted us of traffic at 1 O'clock position approximately 10 mi. Separation for traffic was unsuccessful at 4 mi west from TA to RA alert. Evasive action was commanded by TCAS and followed. Followed climb direction to 13700 ft. ATC informed of climb immediately. ATC reclred us to 12000 ft which we complied with once TCAS climb indication canceled.

Narrative: WHILE WITH ZME ON 124.35 WE WERE CLRED TO 13000 FT; CTR ALERTED US OF TFC AT 1 O'CLOCK POS APPROX 10 MI. SEPARATION FOR TFC WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AT 4 MI W FROM TA TO RA ALERT. EVASIVE ACTION WAS COMMANDED BY TCAS AND FOLLOWED. FOLLOWED CLB DIRECTION TO 13700 FT. ATC INFORMED OF CLB IMMEDIATELY.
