Narrative:

I was flying left seat and the captain was in the right seat. The captain and I have flown together many times in the past and we briefed the departure as we have done on previous flts. I started a right turn to 280 degrees. Soon after that point; the captain dialed in our next altitude of 2000 ft. I saw and called 2000 ft; set and continued my climb to 2000 ft. During those few seconds; the captain and I noticed that the DME was not giving us any information. I think the captain called ATC and stated leaving 1500 ft for 2000 ft. Soon after that; we were told to maintain 1500 ft. Just as I started my descent back to 1500 ft; ATC told me to climb to 8000 ft. I climbed to 8000 ft and soon after that ATC asked us to call them when we landed. If we had any deviation/incident it would be at the altitude between 1500 ft and 2000 ft. It seemed there was some confusion on the departure procedure.

Title: HS125 CREW DOES NOT ADHERE TO ALT RESTR BY TEB 5 SID.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING L SEAT AND THE CAPT WAS IN THE R SEAT. THE CAPT AND I HAVE FLOWN TOGETHER MANY TIMES IN THE PAST AND WE BRIEFED THE DEP AS WE HAVE DONE ON PREVIOUS FLTS. I STARTED A R TURN TO 280 DEGS. SOON AFTER THAT POINT; THE CAPT DIALED IN OUR NEXT ALT OF 2000 FT. I SAW AND CALLED 2000 FT; SET AND CONTINUED MY CLB TO 2000 FT. DURING THOSE FEW SECONDS; THE CAPT AND I NOTICED THAT THE DME WAS NOT GIVING US ANY INFO. I THINK THE CAPT CALLED ATC AND STATED LEAVING 1500 FT FOR 2000 FT. SOON AFTER THAT; WE WERE TOLD TO MAINTAIN 1500 FT. JUST AS I STARTED MY DSCNT BACK TO 1500 FT; ATC TOLD ME TO CLB TO 8000 FT. I CLBED TO 8000 FT AND SOON AFTER THAT ATC ASKED US TO CALL THEM WHEN WE LANDED. IF WE HAD ANY DEV/INCIDENT IT WOULD BE AT THE ALT BTWN 1500 FT AND 2000 FT. IT SEEMED THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION ON THE DEP PROC.
