Narrative:

Aircraft #1 departed runway 36L and failed to turn left heading 330 degrees after passing the clt 2.5 DME per the hornet 2 SID. After talking with the pilot he stated that the ramp tower told them to expect runway 36R so they prebriefed for runway 36R. The pilot also stated that during climb out the cabin door flew open and they were distraction by closing the door. Pilots on a frequent basis fail to make a turn; or the incorrect turn because they prebrief at the gate for an expected runway but when they are taxied to a different runway they do not rebrief for the actual departure runway. I highly recommend an alert notice be issued for pilots to brief on actual departure runway versus 'expected' departure runway.

Title: CLT CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING FLT CREW'S DEP RWY BRIEFING PROCS.

Narrative: ACFT #1 DEPARTED RWY 36L AND FAILED TO TURN L HDG 330 DEGS AFTER PASSING THE CLT 2.5 DME PER THE HORNET 2 SID. AFTER TALKING WITH THE PLT HE STATED THAT THE RAMP TWR TOLD THEM TO EXPECT RWY 36R SO THEY PREBRIEFED FOR RWY 36R. THE PLT ALSO STATED THAT DURING CLBOUT THE CABIN DOOR FLEW OPEN AND THEY WERE DISTR BY CLOSING THE DOOR. PLTS ON A FREQUENT BASIS FAIL TO MAKE A TURN; OR THE INCORRECT TURN BECAUSE THEY PREBRIEF AT THE GATE FOR AN EXPECTED RWY BUT WHEN THEY ARE TAXIED TO A DIFFERENT RWY THEY DO NOT REBRIEF FOR THE ACTUAL DEP RWY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN ALERT NOTICE BE ISSUED FOR PLTS TO BRIEF ON ACTUAL DEP RWY VERSUS 'EXPECTED' DEP RWY.
