Narrative:
Approaching atl in communication with approach; approach contacted me that I was violating class B airspace '135/25.' I was never given 'altitude at discretion' or any other instruction. I was being 'flight followed' at 4500 ft and in radar contact. I heard other aircraft contacted for same violation. I am used to flying through clt and they always assign altitude and headings when on assigned squawk code or; they give 'altitude at discretion' or to remain clear of class B or 'stay under class B.' since I was reported to atl to be at 4500 ft; and in communication; I did not think it wise to change altitude as I reported 4500 ft. This is mass confusion; right or wrong. The fact others were called for same violation seems to support this.

Title: AN M20 PENETRATED ATL CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC. RPTR INCORRECTLY ASSUMED FLT FOLLOWING ALLOW CLASS B TRANSIT.
Narrative: APCHING ATL IN COM WITH APCH; APCH CONTACTED ME THAT I WAS VIOLATING CLASS B AIRSPACE '135/25.' I WAS NEVER GIVEN 'ALT AT DISCRETION' OR ANY OTHER INSTRUCTION. I WAS BEING 'FLT FOLLOWED' AT 4500 FT AND IN RADAR CONTACT. I HEARD OTHER ACFT CONTACTED FOR SAME VIOLATION. I AM USED TO FLYING THROUGH CLT AND THEY ALWAYS ASSIGN ALT AND HDGS WHEN ON ASSIGNED SQUAWK CODE OR; THEY GIVE 'ALT AT DISCRETION' OR TO REMAIN CLR OF CLASS B OR 'STAY UNDER CLASS B.' SINCE I WAS RPTED TO ATL TO BE AT 4500 FT; AND IN COM; I DID NOT THINK IT WISE TO CHANGE ALT AS I RPTED 4500 FT. THIS IS MASS CONFUSION; RIGHT OR WRONG. THE FACT OTHERS WERE CALLED FOR SAME VIOLATION SEEMS TO SUPPORT THIS.
