Narrative:

#2 engine fire occurred during departure. Takeoff used maximum power. Normal departure until passing 4500 ft MSL when #2 engine fire indications were observed. Fire indications went out when fire handle was pulled. Declared emergency with center. Returned to ZZZ uneventfully. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter states that mechanics discovered a bleed air duct clamp that was not properly installed. This error allowed a leak which activated the fire warning system.

Title: B727 CREW EXPERIENCES FIRE WARNING ON #2 ENG DURING DEP AND RETURNS TO FIELD.

Narrative: #2 ENG FIRE OCCURRED DURING DEP. TKOF USED MAX PWR. NORMAL DEP UNTIL PASSING 4500 FT MSL WHEN #2 ENG FIRE INDICATIONS WERE OBSERVED. FIRE INDICATIONS WENT OUT WHEN FIRE HANDLE WAS PULLED. DECLARED EMER WITH CTR. RETURNED TO ZZZ UNEVENTFULLY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATES THAT MECHS DISCOVERED A BLEED AIR DUCT CLAMP THAT WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED. THIS ERROR ALLOWED A LEAK WHICH ACTIVATED THE FIRE WARNING SYS.
