Narrative:
I repacked the r-hand main landing gear strut. I requested the parts listed in the ipc; none were available. A short time later the supervisor came to me with alternate parts shown in computer parts catalog. These were the new and improved parts. I installed them and reassembled the strut. I left the next shift to service the strut and return the aircraft back to service. The next morning I was informed the strut was leaking again. And they had called the FAA. I was told they then disassembled the strut and found one of the seals had rolled and was upside down. I installed a bearing housing seal incorrectly.
