Narrative:
After arrival at dfw I was advised that the flight was under possible FAA investigation for operation with multiple safety-related violations/discrepancies relating to the evacuate/evacuation slides; emergency exit row egress and door placarding. We experienced a lengthy departure delay while maintenance verified and replaced the deteriorated slide packs; restr the seat recline in the emergency exit row and verified correct placarding on the doors. I have learned that maintenance had known about and issued for the alleged discrepancies before my flight had left the gate in ZZZ. Considering the possible ramifications of the verified discrepancies; I am concerned as to why ZZZ was not notified and the reported safety issues resolved prior to my departure. As captain; I take my responsibility for the safety of my crew and passenger very seriously and believe I should have been notified of the reported discrepancies prior to my departure from ZZZ.
