Narrative:

This aircraft has a piece of metal missing and a piece of metal that was supposed to be secured by screws free in the wheel well. Seems that this was missed when possible 5 days before the aircraft went through a c-chk. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: during a walkaround check after a diversion 2; pieces of sheet metal; both about a foot long; were discovered in the main gear well laying on gear components. They were laying in a place that could not be discovered in a normal walkaround check. The sheet metal pieces were not idented but maintenance removed the parts. The airplane was out of a heavy check 5 days.
