Narrative:
We received a terrain warning to pull up. As I started the terrain warning maneuver we popped out of the cloud we were in and I was able to see our position and any terrain in the area. We were at a safe altitude. At the time of the warning we were not painting any terrain on our display.

Title: AN IMC B737-700 APCHING OAK RECEIVED AN EGPWS TERRAIN 'PULL UP' WARNING AND NEARLY SIMULTANEOUSLY BECOME VMC AS A PULL UP WAS BEGUN.
Narrative: WE RECEIVED A TERRAIN WARNING TO PULL UP. AS I STARTED THE TERRAIN WARNING MANEUVER WE POPPED OUT OF THE CLOUD WE WERE IN AND I WAS ABLE TO SEE OUR POS AND ANY TERRAIN IN THE AREA. WE WERE AT A SAFE ALT. AT THE TIME OF THE WARNING WE WERE NOT PAINTING ANY TERRAIN ON OUR DISPLAY.
