On initial climb thru 2500 ft; a single chime for duct overheat. Around 5000 ft; continuous repetitive chime for main cargo deck smoke. Decided to return to ZZZZ as soon as possible. Declared emergency; asked for equipment to stand by. During vectoring for short approach; several more smoke warnings in various compartments; including the avionics compartment. Unable to silence audible alarms. After touchdown; taxied off the active runway to accessible position. Set parking brake. Verified smoke present in main deck cargo hold. Shut down engines and evacuated aircraft via emergency slide. Total time in air 10 mins.
