Narrative:
Flight attendant placed food in cardboard container in oven. Fire in #4 oven aft. Flight attendant used halon extinguisher on fire; then turned oven off and pulled circuit breaker. She then called flight deck. Notified dispatch; and with their approval decided not to declare emergency or land as soon as possible. Use of tinfoil and better judgement when using ovens.

Narrative: FLT ATTENDANT PLACED FOOD IN CARDBOARD CONTAINER IN OVEN. FIRE IN #4 OVEN AFT. FLT ATTENDANT USED HALON EXTINGUISHER ON FIRE; THEN TURNED OVEN OFF AND PULLED CIRCUIT BREAKER. SHE THEN CALLED FLIGHT DECK. NOTIFIED DISPATCH; AND WITH THEIR APPROVAL DECIDED NOT TO DECLARE EMER OR LAND ASAP. USE OF TINFOIL AND BETTER JUDGEMENT WHEN USING OVENS.
