Narrative:
Altitude deviation on teb 5 departure from runway 24 at teb. Altitude alerter was misset to 2000 ft when it should have been 'maintain 1500 ft until passing 4.5 DME teb; then climb and maintain 2000 ft.' also climb should have been to '1500 ft then turn right heading 280 degrees.' ny departure advised deviation and directed to descend to 1500 ft. We complied immediately and descended to 1500 ft and 280 degree heading.
