Narrative:

I was climbing after takeoff to assigned altitude of 7000 ft. Departure control cleared me to FL190. He then gave me a change to stop at 10000 ft. I had originally set '70' in the altitude select window but changed it to '100.' what I didn't notice was the vn-212 altitude controller switch was pointed at the 'stael' instead of 'altitude.' this is very hard to see and I did not notice it had been moved. Therefore; the autoplt did not level at 10000 ft.
