Narrative:

Immediately after takeoff flight attendant reported haze in cabin; slight odor of smoke. We immediately returned to do a normal landing and taxi to the gate with fire trucks at side. After landing maintenance stated it appeared to be oil leak from APU into air conditioning system.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter could not add any information beyond that supplied in the original report.

Title: MD80 CREW RETURNS TO DEP ARPT AFTER FLT ATTENDANT RPTS SMOKE IN THE CABIN.

Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF FLT ATTENDANT RPTED HAZE IN CABIN; SLIGHT ODOR OF SMOKE. WE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO DO A NORMAL LNDG AND TAXI TO THE GATE WITH FIRE TRUCKS AT SIDE. AFTER LNDG MAINT STATED IT APPEARED TO BE OIL LEAK FROM APU INTO AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR COULD NOT ADD ANY INFO BEYOND THAT SUPPLIED IN THE ORIGINAL RPT.
