Narrative:
The captain failed to hold short of the new hold short lines for runway 13R at dallas love field. Even though this information was noted on ATIS; it was not communicated either verbally; or written on ATIS form. Thus upon taxiing out; the captain proceeded to the departure end of the runway where the old reference lines have been for many yrs. It wasn't until after passing the new hold short lines that it was realized that a mistake had been made. At no time was the aircraft on the actual runway after passing the new hold short lines. It should be also noted that commercial charts for dallas love do not reflect the recent changes to the airport taxi and hold short reference points. The crew should have paid more attention to details on the ATIS and made sure both pilots were fully aware of the changes. Read NOTAMS carefully about airport changes and communicate those changes.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B737-500 FLT CREW HAS A RWY INCURSION AT DAL.
Narrative: THE CAPT FAILED TO HOLD SHORT OF THE NEW HOLD SHORT LINES FOR RWY 13R AT DALLAS LOVE FIELD. EVEN THOUGH THIS INFO WAS NOTED ON ATIS; IT WAS NOT COMMUNICATED EITHER VERBALLY; OR WRITTEN ON ATIS FORM. THUS UPON TAXIING OUT; THE CAPT PROCEEDED TO THE DEP END OF THE RWY WHERE THE OLD REF LINES HAVE BEEN FOR MANY YRS. IT WASN'T UNTIL AFTER PASSING THE NEW HOLD SHORT LINES THAT IT WAS REALIZED THAT A MISTAKE HAD BEEN MADE. AT NO TIME WAS THE ACFT ON THE ACTUAL RWY AFTER PASSING THE NEW HOLD SHORT LINES. IT SHOULD BE ALSO NOTED THAT COMMERCIAL CHARTS FOR DALLAS LOVE DO NOT REFLECT THE RECENT CHANGES TO THE ARPT TAXI AND HOLD SHORT REF POINTS. THE CREW SHOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTN TO DETAILS ON THE ATIS AND MADE SURE BOTH PLTS WERE FULLY AWARE OF THE CHANGES. READ NOTAMS CAREFULLY ABOUT ARPT CHANGES AND COMMUNICATE THOSE CHANGES.
