Narrative:
Fpf release #1 as well as fpf release #2 show us filed via the TRALR2 departure dvc transition. We obtained the pre departure clearance for flight. The 'filed route' section of the pre departure clearance also showed the TRALR2 departure. 'Revised segment' section of the pre departure clearance said none. The 'remarks' section of the pre departure clearance only said 'comply with altitudes on SID. Departure control frequency 133.95.' that is the information we departed with. On climb out when we switched to departure control frequency; the controller asked us which departure we were on. We said the tralr departure. He said we were supposed to be on the staav departure. We told him that was not what our pre departure clearance said. He then came back and told us to copy a phone number to call about a possible violation. En route; we reviewed all of the information we had. Nothing showed that we were supposed to do the staav departure. We sent an ACARS to the dispatcher to advise him what had happened; and told him we would file a report. On the ground at destination; we talked to the assistant chief pilot about what had happened; and showed him the paperwork and pre departure clearance we had. He agreed with us. The captain called the number ATC had asked us to call. When ATC said they wanted to see a copy of the pre departure clearance; the assistant chief pilot faxed it to them. The person the captain talked to on the phone in las said that the tralr departure was not used for runway 25 departures; but our company kept filing it anyway. Even so; our pre departure clearance did not give any change to what had been filed -- it assigned the TRALR2 departure. If that changed after we had called up and printed the pre departure clearance; neither las clearance; ground control; tower; or departure control informed us of any change to our pre departure clearance clearance. We flew the departure that we had filed; and that the pre departure clearance had instructed us to do -- as we are supposed to do. Supplemental information from acn 733379: the captain notified me via ACARS that las departure told him that he should be on the STAAV3 departure and they wanted him to call when he got on the ground. The captain said that release #1 and #2 as well as the pre departure clearance showed the TRALR2 departure. I verified that I had filed the flight on the TRALR2 departure. The pre departure clearance in computer show the STAAV3 departure as a revised segment. The captain said that the pre departure clearance (that he still had a copy of) did not have any revised segments. Callback conversation with reporter acn 733647 revealed the following information: the captain reiterated receipt of a pre departure clearance with the tralr SID. Reporter advised the dispatcher had received a copy of a revised SID which showed the staav.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A320 DEPARTS LAS ON TRALR RNAV SID PER FLT PLAN AND PDC. DEP CTLR ADVISES THEY SHOWED STAAV SID.
Narrative: FPF RELEASE #1 AS WELL AS FPF RELEASE #2 SHOW US FILED VIA THE TRALR2 DEP DVC TRANSITION. WE OBTAINED THE PDC FOR FLT. THE 'FILED RTE' SECTION OF THE PDC ALSO SHOWED THE TRALR2 DEP. 'REVISED SEGMENT' SECTION OF THE PDC SAID NONE. THE 'REMARKS' SECTION OF THE PDC ONLY SAID 'COMPLY WITH ALTS ON SID. DEP CTL FREQ 133.95.' THAT IS THE INFO WE DEPARTED WITH. ON CLBOUT WHEN WE SWITCHED TO DEP CTL FREQ; THE CTLR ASKED US WHICH DEP WE WERE ON. WE SAID THE TRALR DEP. HE SAID WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE STAAV DEP. WE TOLD HIM THAT WAS NOT WHAT OUR PDC SAID. HE THEN CAME BACK AND TOLD US TO COPY A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL ABOUT A POSSIBLE VIOLATION. ENRTE; WE REVIEWED ALL OF THE INFO WE HAD. NOTHING SHOWED THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DO THE STAAV DEP. WE SENT AN ACARS TO THE DISPATCHER TO ADVISE HIM WHAT HAD HAPPENED; AND TOLD HIM WE WOULD FILE A RPT. ON THE GND AT DEST; WE TALKED TO THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PLT ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED; AND SHOWED HIM THE PAPERWORK AND PDC WE HAD. HE AGREED WITH US. THE CAPT CALLED THE NUMBER ATC HAD ASKED US TO CALL. WHEN ATC SAID THEY WANTED TO SEE A COPY OF THE PDC; THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PLT FAXED IT TO THEM. THE PERSON THE CAPT TALKED TO ON THE PHONE IN LAS SAID THAT THE TRALR DEP WAS NOT USED FOR RWY 25 DEPS; BUT OUR COMPANY KEPT FILING IT ANYWAY. EVEN SO; OUR PDC DID NOT GIVE ANY CHANGE TO WHAT HAD BEEN FILED -- IT ASSIGNED THE TRALR2 DEP. IF THAT CHANGED AFTER WE HAD CALLED UP AND PRINTED THE PDC; NEITHER LAS CLRNC; GND CTL; TWR; OR DEP CTL INFORMED US OF ANY CHANGE TO OUR PDC CLRNC. WE FLEW THE DEP THAT WE HAD FILED; AND THAT THE PDC HAD INSTRUCTED US TO DO -- AS WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 733379: THE CAPT NOTIFIED ME VIA ACARS THAT LAS DEP TOLD HIM THAT HE SHOULD BE ON THE STAAV3 DEP AND THEY WANTED HIM TO CALL WHEN HE GOT ON THE GND. THE CAPT SAID THAT RELEASE #1 AND #2 AS WELL AS THE PDC SHOWED THE TRALR2 DEP. I VERIFIED THAT I HAD FILED THE FLT ON THE TRALR2 DEP. THE PDC IN COMPUTER SHOW THE STAAV3 DEP AS A REVISED SEGMENT. THE CAPT SAID THAT THE PDC (THAT HE STILL HAD A COPY OF) DID NOT HAVE ANY REVISED SEGMENTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 733647 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE CAPT REITERATED RECEIPT OF A PDC WITH THE TRALR SID. RPTR ADVISED THE DISPATCHER HAD RECEIVED A COPY OF A REVISED SID WHICH SHOWED THE STAAV.
