Narrative:

Operating airbus A300 in communication with joshua approach control; IFR flight lgb; then diverted to bur per company instructions. Level at 10000 ft and indicated airspeed of 310 KIAS; as requested by joshua approach control; to keep speed up for other arriving aircraft behind us. Suddenly; our TCAS showed targets at 1 O'clock position and 2 O'clock position as we passed by the pmd VOR on the lynnx 8 arrival to bur. One of the targets was higher above us; the other was showing -200 below our aircraft. At that time; joshua approach control pointed out the same traffic and after a pause; directed to fly 10 degrees left for separation from that same traffic; there was no communication from that traffic in conflict with our flight. TCAS symbology showed intruder status of the conflict aircraft and then we received aural and instrument TCAS warnings to 'climb; climb; now.' I disengaged the autoplt and autothrottles per company practice; and executed climb maneuver away from the intruder; then received an almost immediate instruction to 'descend; monitor vertical speed.' the intruder aircraft passed within 1 mi of our aircraft. We had visual with that aircraft passing on our right side; below us. We reported our deviation with joshua approach control; the entire maneuver started at 10000 ft MSL and was over by 10400 ft MSL. TCAS was excellent in getting us out of the situation.

Narrative: OPERATING AIRBUS A300 IN COM WITH JOSHUA APCH CTL; IFR FLT LGB; THEN DIVERTED TO BUR PER COMPANY INSTRUCTIONS. SUDDENLY; OUR TCAS SHOWED TARGETS AT 1 O'CLOCK POS AND 2 O'CLOCK POS AS WE PASSED BY THE PMD VOR ON THE LYNNX 8 ARR TO BUR. ONE OF THE TARGETS WAS HIGHER ABOVE US; THE OTHER WAS SHOWING -200 BELOW OUR ACFT. AT THAT TIME; JOSHUA APCH CTL POINTED OUT THE SAME TFC AND AFTER A PAUSE; DIRECTED TO FLY 10 DEGS L FOR SEPARATION FROM THAT SAME TFC; THERE WAS NO COM FROM THAT TFC IN CONFLICT WITH OUR FLT. TCAS SYMBOLOGY SHOWED INTRUDER STATUS OF THE CONFLICT ACFT AND THEN WE RECEIVED AURAL AND INST TCAS WARNINGS TO 'CLB; CLB; NOW.' THE INTRUDER ACFT PASSED WITHIN 1 MI OF OUR ACFT. WE HAD VISUAL WITH THAT ACFT PASSING ON OUR R SIDE; BELOW US. WE RPTED OUR DEV WITH JOSHUA APCH CTL; THE ENTIRE MANEUVER STARTED AT 10000 FT MSL AND WAS OVER BY 10400 FT MSL. TCAS WAS EXCELLENT IN GETTING US OUT OF THE SITUATION.
