Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff; the smoke detector signal went off in the lavatory just aft of the 2L jumpseat. There was an acrid smell and a haze of smoke appeared in the coach cabin. The purser; as well as myself; and the #5 flight attendant called the captain to inform him of the situation; then we immediately went to the lavatory. The purser went to get the fire extinguisher while we looked for the source of the fire. The #7 flight attendant had also come from his jumpseat at 3L to assist us. At this point the smoke detector went silent and we ascertained that there was no fire in the lavatory. The captain informed us that we would be on the ground in 10 mins and to prepare to evacuate/evacuation. We landed without incidence and did not evacuate/evacuation.
