Narrative:
Cleared to taxi to hold short of runway 25R on taxiway C at anc. Then cleared to cross runway 25R and hold short of runway 25L on taxiway C. I taxied the airplane up to the hold short line for runway 25L. The hold short markings between runways 25R and 25L are very close together; too close to fit an MD11 between them. After about a minute; anc tower advised 'air carrier X move up a little for landing traffic on runway 25R.' my first officer asked; 'are we cleared on to hold?' tower replied; 'no; just move up some; it's ok if you cross the hold short line; just don't take the runway yet.' tower then cleared a small single engine airplane to land long on runway 25R (past our jet wash). Once the single engine aircraft landed on runway 25R; anc tower cleared us for takeoff on runway 25L. At no time did we feel in danger; just uncomfortable with the clearance. I'm not sure if I need to file an event report about a runway incursion because we were under tower control during the entire event.

Title: MD11 DEP FROM ANC QUESTIONED CTLR'S CLRNC TO CROSS HOLD LINES FOR RWY 25L BUT NOT TAXI ON TO THE RWY; LNDG TFC ON RWY 25L.
Narrative: CLRED TO TAXI TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25R ON TXWY C AT ANC. THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 25R AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25L ON TXWY C. I TAXIED THE AIRPLANE UP TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 25L. THE HOLD SHORT MARKINGS BTWN RWYS 25R AND 25L ARE VERY CLOSE TOGETHER; TOO CLOSE TO FIT AN MD11 BTWN THEM. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE; ANC TWR ADVISED 'ACR X MOVE UP A LITTLE FOR LNDG TFC ON RWY 25R.' MY FO ASKED; 'ARE WE CLRED ON TO HOLD?' TWR REPLIED; 'NO; JUST MOVE UP SOME; IT'S OK IF YOU CROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE; JUST DON'T TAKE THE RWY YET.' TWR THEN CLRED A SMALL SINGLE ENG AIRPLANE TO LAND LONG ON RWY 25R (PAST OUR JET WASH). ONCE THE SINGLE ENG ACFT LANDED ON RWY 25R; ANC TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF ON RWY 25L. AT NO TIME DID WE FEEL IN DANGER; JUST UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE CLRNC. I'M NOT SURE IF I NEED TO FILE AN EVENT RPT ABOUT A RWY INCURSION BECAUSE WE WERE UNDER TWR CTL DURING THE ENTIRE EVENT.
