Narrative:

Clearance is to fly pomona 7 dag transition off of runway 26R. The initial climb instruction on SID is fly 256 degree heading. Then in the routing part it continues to identify to intercept and fly the pom R-114 radial to pom VOR and then on to the pom R-301. We departed and became established on the 256 degree heading. Switched over to socal; checked in climbing to 14000 ft and awaited clearance to intercept radial to pom. As we were climbing through 4500 ft; socal advised us of C152 traffic conflict west of pom crossing on departure procedure. As we tried to find aircraft; socal instructed C152 to turn to 310 degree heading. Soon thereafter; we queried socal if he wanted us to turn to intercept radial. He replied that it should have already been done as it is part of pom 7 SID. We turned to intercept and climbed to 14000 ft. Conflict with other aircraft was never an issue. Upon arrival at destination I contacted the supervisor for the empire division which controls that segment and chatted about incident. We did identify that our commercial chart page and their NOAA page have different set of instructions in the initial climb block. Their page spells out to climb on 256 degree heading and intercept the pom R-114 radial. There is a major discrepancy between our commercial chart and NOAA.

Title: A320 CAPTAIN REPORTS MISUNDERSTANDING THE POM 7 DEPARTURE OUT OF ONT AND FAILS TO TURN ON TO THE POM 114 RADIAL.

Narrative: CLRNC IS TO FLY POMONA 7 DAG TRANSITION OFF OF RWY 26R. THE INITIAL CLB INSTRUCTION ON SID IS FLY 256 DEG HDG. THEN IN THE ROUTING PART IT CONTINUES TO IDENT TO INTERCEPT AND FLY THE POM R-114 RADIAL TO POM VOR AND THEN ON TO THE POM R-301. WE DEPARTED AND BECAME ESTABLISHED ON THE 256 DEG HDG. SWITCHED OVER TO SOCAL; CHKED IN CLBING TO 14000 FT AND AWAITED CLRNC TO INTERCEPT RADIAL TO POM. AS WE WERE CLBING THROUGH 4500 FT; SOCAL ADVISED US OF C152 TFC CONFLICT W OF POM XING ON DEP PROC. AS WE TRIED TO FIND ACFT; SOCAL INSTRUCTED C152 TO TURN TO 310 DEG HDG. SOON THEREAFTER; WE QUERIED SOCAL IF HE WANTED US TO TURN TO INTERCEPT RADIAL. HE REPLIED THAT IT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE AS IT IS PART OF POM 7 SID. WE TURNED TO INTERCEPT AND CLBED TO 14000 FT. CONFLICT WITH OTHER ACFT WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. UPON ARR AT DEST I CONTACTED THE SUPVR FOR THE EMPIRE DIVISION WHICH CTLS THAT SEGMENT AND CHATTED ABOUT INCIDENT. WE DID IDENTIFY THAT OUR COMMERCIAL CHART PAGE AND THEIR NOAA PAGE HAVE DIFFERENT SET OF INSTRUCTIONS IN THE INITIAL CLB BLOCK. THEIR PAGE SPELLS OUT TO CLB ON 256 DEG HDG AND INTERCEPT THE POM R-114 RADIAL. THERE IS A MAJOR DISCREPANCY BTWN OUR COMMERCIAL CHART AND NOAA.
