Narrative:

During our night visual approach to runway 30L sjc; we encountered a ground based flash from a green colored laser. The laser appeared from the ground at approximately 7 mi from the runway and from the northeast side of the final approach course. The laser flash was momentary and neither pilot suffered direct exposure. The event was reported to the sjc tower controller. The approach continued without further incident.

Title: B757-200 FLT CREW REPORTS FLASH FROM GREEN LASER LIGHT 7NM SE OF SJC WHILE ON VISUAL APPROACH. FLT CREW LANDS SAFELY.

Narrative: DURING OUR NIGHT VISUAL APCH TO RWY 30L SJC; WE ENCOUNTERED A GND BASED FLASH FROM A GREEN COLORED LASER. THE LASER APPEARED FROM THE GND AT APPROX 7 MI FROM THE RWY AND FROM THE NE SIDE OF THE FINAL APCH COURSE. THE LASER FLASH WAS MOMENTARY AND NEITHER PLT SUFFERED DIRECT EXPOSURE. THE EVENT WAS RPTED TO THE SJC TWR CTLR. THE APCH CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
