Narrative:
Teb 5 departure off of runway 24. After a lengthy delay for WX approaching the new york area and a complete re-routing to destination just prior to departure I leveled off high at 1720 ft on the teb 5 departure; turned to heading 280 degrees; and continued the climb to 2000 ft prior to reaching the 4.5 DME fix as stated in the SID. I attribute my poor execution of the SID to inattention to detail; and an extended delay on the ground holding number 1 for departure (2 hours).
