Narrative:

We were cleared for the visual approach to runway 8L at miami. We accepted the visual with the airport and runway in sight. The visibility was adequate but it was hazy and the sun was very bright on this morning. In the next transmission; we were cleared to side step to and land on runway 8R. We accepted the clearance and began a small correction to the right. In the ensuing moments we misidentify (due to the sun temporarily blinding us in the haze) runway 8R and head for runway 9. We realize our mistake before lining up for runway 9 and begin to correct to the north for runway 8R. At approximately the same time; we receive a transmission from ATC to correct to the north for runway 8R. During the approach we were given a clearance to use caution for wake turbulence for the landing 747 that we were following. This traffic was in sight during the entire approach (it was in front of and below us) and landing runway 9. While overshooting runway 8L it remained in front of and below us at all times. At no time was the safety of the flight in question.

Title: AN EMB135 FLT CREW GOT A CLOSE-IN RWY CHANGE ON APCH TO MIA; AND DEVIATED FROM THEIR CLRED TRACK WHEN THEY WERE TEMPORARILY BLINDED BY THE SUN.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH TO RWY 8L AT MIAMI. WE ACCEPTED THE VISUAL WITH THE ARPT AND RWY IN SIGHT. THE VISIBILITY WAS ADEQUATE BUT IT WAS HAZY AND THE SUN WAS VERY BRIGHT ON THIS MORNING. IN THE NEXT TRANSMISSION; WE WERE CLRED TO SIDE STEP TO AND LAND ON RWY 8R. WE ACCEPTED THE CLRNC AND BEGAN A SMALL CORRECTION TO THE RIGHT. IN THE ENSUING MOMENTS WE MISIDENTIFY (DUE TO THE SUN TEMPORARILY BLINDING US IN THE HAZE) RWY 8R AND HEAD FOR RWY 9. WE REALIZE OUR MISTAKE BEFORE LINING UP FOR RWY 9 AND BEGIN TO CORRECT TO THE NORTH FOR RWY 8R. AT APPROX THE SAME TIME; WE RECEIVE A TRANSMISSION FROM ATC TO CORRECT TO THE NORTH FOR RWY 8R. DURING THE APCH WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO USE CAUTION FOR WAKE TURBULENCE FOR THE LNDG 747 THAT WE WERE FOLLOWING. THIS TFC WAS IN SIGHT DURING THE ENTIRE APCH (IT WAS IN FRONT OF AND BELOW US) AND LNDG RWY 9. WHILE OVERSHOOTING RWY 8L IT REMAINED IN FRONT OF AND BELOW US AT ALL TIMES. AT NO TIME WAS THE SAFETY OF THE FLIGHT IN QUESTION.
