Narrative:
Working in the hangar on aircraft ZZZ. While working on ignition problem on #1 engine. Replaced exciter on inboard side with part number xyz. This aircraft was pre-service bulletin. Installed post mod exciter. Checked for kit (cap for EMS connector). There were no parts at this time so I bagged the connector to keep moisture out of connector and secured connector to engine. A week later I realized that there was an engineering order. While working on this task I was told to do the ps-2 on this aircraft. While doing research on this engine I was told to pick up aircraft X. When I got back to the task I had forgotten where I left off due to the time it took to pick up aircraft X. Spend more time on research and with less interruptions.
