Narrative:
Flight arrived early and we were instructed to taxi to gate. We observed the guideman and proceeded to taxi in to gate X on his instructions. It was dark and his lighted wands were visible. As the guideman brought his wands up over his head signaling we were approaching the stop point we came to a stop without braking. The guideman had not yet given us the signal to stop. I felt something was wrong and set the parking brake and shut down the #2 engine; then noticed the guideman was gone. I looked out my side window and noticed the gate was behind the 1L door. I then opened the window and saw the #1 engine nacelle had contacted the jetbridge. We started the APU; shut down #1 engine and called the ramp for help deplaning the passenger via an airstair. Supplemental information from acn 759610: examination showed nosewheel stopped just short of the B757 parking indicator; approximately 13-15 ft beyond the A310/A320 stop marks.
