Narrative:

After completing the after start checklist we were given taxi instructions: 'follow the lear; left to right; to runway 1L.' I followed the lear via taxiway hotel and noticed that he had crossed the runway 7L hold line and had stopped. I also crossed the line by one aircraft length. The pilot of the lear called the tower and stated he had crossed the line. My first officer discussed whether we had crossed also. We determined we had; and informed the tower and made a 180 degree turn and fell in behind the lear; who was now behind us. The sign at the hold short line for runway 7L and runway 1L are at the same point. There are two arrows on the runway 7L; runway 1L hold short line. The runway 7L arrow shows a turn to the left of 135 degrees. The runway 1L arrow shows straight ahead. However; the runway 7L threshold appears to be 90 degrees to the hold line; not back and behind your position. The arrow for runway 7L points down at the ground at the hold line. This leads you to believe that the hold line for runway 1L is ahead where its arrow is pointing. Four pilots on two separate aircraft made the same mistake in less than three minutes. There are no yellow wig-wag lights at this hold line. Also several taxiway centerline lights were not working. As you approach this point the headlights of cars on las vegas blvd are also in your view ahead and slightly to the right.

Title: G200; CLEARED TO TAXI TO FOLLOW PRECEDING LJ45; CROSSES CONFUSING HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWYS 07L AND 1L AT LAS.

Narrative: AFTER COMPLETING THE AFTER START CHKLIST WE WERE GIVEN TAXI INSTRUCTIONS: 'FOLLOW THE LEAR; LEFT TO RIGHT; TO RWY 1L.' I FOLLOWED THE LEAR VIA TXWY HOTEL AND NOTICED THAT HE HAD CROSSED THE RWY 7L HOLD LINE AND HAD STOPPED. I ALSO CROSSED THE LINE BY ONE ACFT LENGTH. THE PLT OF THE LEAR CALLED THE TWR AND STATED HE HAD CROSSED THE LINE. MY FO DISCUSSED WHETHER WE HAD CROSSED ALSO. WE DETERMINED WE HAD; AND INFORMED THE TWR AND MADE A 180 DEG TURN AND FELL IN BEHIND THE LEAR; WHO WAS NOW BEHIND US. THE SIGN AT THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 7L AND RWY 1L ARE AT THE SAME POINT. THERE ARE TWO ARROWS ON THE RWY 7L; RWY 1L HOLD SHORT LINE. THE RWY 7L ARROW SHOWS A TURN TO THE LEFT OF 135 DEGS. THE RWY 1L ARROW SHOWS STRAIGHT AHEAD. HOWEVER; THE RWY 7L THRESHOLD APPEARS TO BE 90 DEGS TO THE HOLD LINE; NOT BACK AND BEHIND YOUR POSITION. THE ARROW FOR RWY 7L POINTS DOWN AT THE GROUND AT THE HOLD LINE. THIS LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE THAT THE HOLD LINE FOR RWY 1L IS AHEAD WHERE ITS ARROW IS POINTING. FOUR PLTS ON TWO SEPARATE ACFT MADE THE SAME MISTAKE IN LESS THAN THREE MINUTES. THERE ARE NO YELLOW WIG-WAG LIGHTS AT THIS HOLD LINE. ALSO SEVERAL TXWY CTRLINE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. AS YOU APCH THIS POINT THE HEADLIGHTS OF CARS ON LAS VEGAS BLVD ARE ALSO IN YOUR VIEW AHEAD AND SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT.
