Narrative:

Hunter tower at savannah; GA; just got the ASR-11 feed. Since the change-over savannah tower has numerous ARTS changes and none of them work. They place the change in the 'read and initial' and then I come in off my wkend; sign paper stating the change of the ARTS. Come to find out that the change does not work. Another controller told me it was not working. However; management does ot take it out of the read and initial binder since it does not work and front line management does not inform you that it does not work when it's your first day back. Management chooses not to correct this problem. Also; when aircraft depart hunter; they come up on a center tag so we have to steal the tag and then hand off to center 1 aircraft apart and the controller assumed center took the handoff but did not. This is a problem with automation. Also; if we need a proposed departure off of hunter we need to call the center to amend his proposed time to get a strip. The automation changes is a recipe for a safety issue.

Title: SAV CTLR DESCRIBED FAILED FLT PLAN FORWARDING FAILURES ALLEGING NEW ASR-11 SYSTEM AT HUNTER TWR IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SAV SYSTEM.

Narrative: HUNTER TWR AT SAVANNAH; GA; JUST GOT THE ASR-11 FEED. SINCE THE CHANGE-OVER SAVANNAH TWR HAS NUMEROUS ARTS CHANGES AND NONE OF THEM WORK. THEY PLACE THE CHANGE IN THE 'READ AND INITIAL' AND THEN I COME IN OFF MY WKEND; SIGN PAPER STATING THE CHANGE OF THE ARTS. COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE CHANGE DOES NOT WORK. ANOTHER CTLR TOLD ME IT WAS NOT WORKING. HOWEVER; MGMNT DOES OT TAKE IT OUT OF THE READ AND INITIAL BINDER SINCE IT DOES NOT WORK AND FRONT LINE MGMNT DOES NOT INFORM YOU THAT IT DOES NOT WORK WHEN IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY BACK. MGMNT CHOOSES NOT TO CORRECT THIS PROB. ALSO; WHEN ACFT DEPART HUNTER; THEY COME UP ON A CTR TAG SO WE HAVE TO STEAL THE TAG AND THEN HAND OFF TO CTR 1 ACFT APART AND THE CTLR ASSUMED CTR TOOK THE HDOF BUT DID NOT. THIS IS A PROB WITH AUTOMATION. ALSO; IF WE NEED A PROPOSED DEP OFF OF HUNTER WE NEED TO CALL THE CTR TO AMEND HIS PROPOSED TIME TO GET A STRIP. THE AUTOMATION CHANGES IS A RECIPE FOR A SAFETY ISSUE.
