Narrative:
Due to short staffing in the ZJX south area; I was held on position in excess of 2 hours 5 mins. During this time; I worked R67 with a d-side and a tracker. We worked heavy traffic with WX deviations; WX rertes; and extensive mi-in-trail restrs. It was a fatiguing session. I feel that instances of controllers working more than 2 hours on position are unsafe and should be kept to a minimum. Unfortunately; it has become commonplace in the south area; and other areas; at ZJX.

Title: ZJX CTLR VOICED CONCERN REGARDING THE LACK OF STAFFING AND THE RESULTING INCREASED TIME ON POSITION.
Narrative: DUE TO SHORT STAFFING IN THE ZJX S AREA; I WAS HELD ON POS IN EXCESS OF 2 HRS 5 MINS. DURING THIS TIME; I WORKED R67 WITH A D-SIDE AND A TRACKER. WE WORKED HVY TFC WITH WX DEVS; WX RERTES; AND EXTENSIVE MI-IN-TRAIL RESTRS. IT WAS A FATIGUING SESSION. I FEEL THAT INSTANCES OF CTLRS WORKING MORE THAN 2 HRS ON POS ARE UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. UNFORTUNATELY; IT HAS BECOME COMMONPLACE IN THE S AREA; AND OTHER AREAS; AT ZJX.
