Narrative:
I departed hao and WX along my route was lower than expected. I decided to return to hao. While on very short final to runway 29; I realized I had not put the gear down. I immediately executed a go around. Upon applying full power; I also lowered the nose to avoid a stall and unknowingly struck the propeller. I continued the go around and landed. After taxi in and engine shutdown; I saw damage to the propeller blades and inboard corners of the flaps. I believe I was distraction by returning to the airport and thinking about what I would do next (park at FBO; rechk WX) rather than concentrating on flying the airplane. I did not properly use the checklist. I will be more diligent in checklist use and keep my focus where it belongs; on flying the airplane. I will also be having a gear warning horn installed on the airplane.
