Narrative:
The hold bar intrusion was caused by the poor marking on runway 6 south side. From the marked run-up area where I was located; I called the tower and was given clearance to taxi up to runway 6 and hold. I taxied to the runway without crossing or seeing the hold bar. When departing the run-up area there are no marked lines to follow to the hold bar and in my case; there were other aircraft running up or holding for IFR clearance blocking that path. If there is proper marking in the run-up area to the hold bar; this problem will not likely occur in the future.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the run-up area concrete is a light color and he was expecting to see a dark hold short bar like he is used to seeing on other txwys prior to entering the runway. In this case he did not see a distinction between the taxiway and whatever was painted on the run-up area indicating entry to the runway. Only after the fact was he made aware of a runway incursion.
