Narrative:
Upon requesting taxi instructions from run-up area; ground replied 'taxi runway 20; omitted via taxiway a; cross runway 30 then via B.' upon reviewing the recording; I concluded that ground controller omitted runway 20 and A7 from his/her instructions. I had in my possession the updated af/D opened to the airport's diagram page. However; the taxiway changes have not yet been amended in the publications. They are still under notams. I proceeded to taxi onto taxiway a and was looking for A6 (now A7) that leads to B after crossing 30. A6 is now past runway 2-20 (active runway at the time). I crossed runway 2 hold short line up to my door before I slammed on the breaks; realizing I was approaching the active runway. Hio (portland-hillsboro airport) did construction on the airport taxiways about six months ago. A NOTAM is in file noting the changes to the taxiway sign changes; but the publications have not yet been updated to date.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A small aircraft pilot did not recognize the assigned taxiway A7 before incurring HIO Runway 2/20. The pilot was using a current AF/D airport chart which is not updated to reflect the current A6/A7 designations changes.
