Narrative:
Flight deck; captain's rear fixed window delamination; approaching but not exceeding limits. Crew write-up. Addressed per amm limits amm 56-11-12-991-018 and programmed window for future replacement using deferral code. Off-going flight crew wrote this window up upon arrival. Item cleared as in limits but deferred to be replaced prior to progressing beyond limits and causing a delay or cancellation. Maintenance procedure manual makes references to cabin item list and deferral list (ndl) to refer to for items that can be deferred by the code. All those items outside these lists moc must be notified. I read the maintenance procedures manual and felt that I could use this to defer and program the window. If I would have read further; I would have never used that code. I was unaware at the time that the window I was programming was not on these lists.
