Narrative:
I interpreted my pre departure clearance clearance -- I was filed 'dfw SOLDO2 eld mei..' under revised segment it states 'SOLDO2 mei' which led me to believe my new segment deleted 'eld' and had me direct from 'soldo to mei.' the controller stated that was not so and vectored me to eld after soldo. In my opinion this pre departure clearance is ambiguous and leaves too much open for interpretation. Next time I will verify with clearance before we depart; but this issue should be addressed.

Title: FLT CREW UNDERSTANDS THE 'REVISED SEGMENT' PORTION OF THEIR PDC CLEARANCE IS INTENDED TO ADVISE OF A CHANGE IN THEIR FILED FLT PLAN. ATC ADVISES THE REVISION WAS NOT A REVISION.
Narrative: I INTERPRETED MY PDC CLEARANCE -- I WAS FILED 'DFW SOLDO2 ELD MEI..' UNDER REVISED SEGMENT IT STATES 'SOLDO2 MEI' WHICH LED ME TO BELIEVE MY NEW SEGMENT DELETED 'ELD' AND HAD ME DIRECT FROM 'SOLDO TO MEI.' THE CTLR STATED THAT WAS NOT SO AND VECTORED ME TO ELD AFTER SOLDO. IN MY OPINION THIS PDC IS AMBIGUOUS AND LEAVES TOO MUCH OPEN FOR INTERPRETATION. NEXT TIME I WILL VERIFY WITH CLEARANCE BEFORE WE DEPART; BUT THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
