Narrative:
Passing through 10000 ft got a tail compartment hot light. Did the QRH items and light went out. 3 mins later light came back on and declared an emergency and returned to ZZZ. Landed overweight by 2700 pounds. Landing was normal and smooth. Returned to gate for maintenance.

Narrative: PASSING THROUGH 10000 FT GOT A TAIL COMPARTMENT HOT LIGHT. DID THE QRH ITEMS AND LIGHT WENT OUT. 3 MINS LATER LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO ZZZ. LANDED OVERWT BY 2700 LBS. LNDG WAS NORMAL AND SMOOTH. RETURNED TO GATE FOR MAINT.
