Narrative:
During climb out from ZZZ; left CSD temperature exceeded redline. Accomplished QRH procedure; disconnected CSD. APU was placarded inoperative; reduced to single generator operation. Returned to land at nearest suitable (ZZZ). Declared emergency and landed overweight. Crash fire rescue equipment equipment followed us to gate and inspected brakes for overheat. Brake temperatures normal. Xferred to another aircraft for departure.
