Narrative:
I was the 'B' flight attendant and did my preflight. It was exciting because this was the first day this aircraft was on-line. Everything was beautiful and brand new! While doing the preflight I checked the masks and gauges on the oxygen bottles but I failed to notice that the hoses were not attached. As a result we had to return to the gate and have the mechanic board the plane and attach the hoses so we would be in compliance. I feel disappointed with myself for this oversight and I can assure you it will not happen again!
