Narrative:

During pushback; received runway change. First officer entered new data during pushback and captain looked down to verify the entries. As we looked up; we noticed that the push truck had become disconnected; with ground crew frantically waving to get our attention. No aural communication was apparently available any longer from the ground crew head set. Captain applied brakes very carefully to prevent tail tipping. No damage occurred.

Title: AN A319 BECAME DISCONNECTED FROM THE TUG DURING PUSHBACK. THE CAPT BROUGHT THE AIRCRAFT TO A SAFE STOP.

Narrative: DURING PUSHBACK; RECEIVED RWY CHANGE. FO ENTERED NEW DATA DURING PUSHBACK AND CAPT LOOKED DOWN TO VERIFY THE ENTRIES. AS WE LOOKED UP; WE NOTICED THAT THE PUSH TRUCK HAD BECOME DISCONNECTED; WITH GND CREW FRANTICALLY WAVING TO GET OUR ATTN. NO AURAL COM WAS APPARENTLY AVAILABLE ANY LONGER FROM THE GND CREW HEAD SET. CAPT APPLIED BRAKES VERY CAREFULLY TO PREVENT TAIL TIPPING. NO DAMAGE OCCURRED.
