Narrative:
During set-up initially contacted maintenance control regarding a right idg warning light not illuminated. Problem was resolved. New maintenance release received and taxied to runway 14R. All required checklists completed. When cleared for takeoff power advanced to 1.1 EPR left generator off light illuminated both utility busses shed. Takeoff aborted at less than 60 KTS; no airspeed indication. Taxied clear; contacted maintenance control; reset generator; all system appeared normal. Received new maintenance release from maintenance control. Received taxi clearance to runway 14R; accomplished the before takeoff checklist. When cleared for takeoff; crew agreed to manually hold brakes and apply power to 1.1 EPR in order to verify all normal. Parking brake was never set. At 1.1 EPR brakes were eased off and power advanced. I generator immediately shed with identical indications as first takeoff. Additionally; the red confign EICAS message and horn sounded. Takeoff was aborted and returned to gate.
